You can pick modifiers that can make the level you’re about to enter more difficult. The Dun’Djinn is a 251-floor challenge dungeon that is essentially Mapworks from previous games but with a twist. Like many aspects of Torchlight III, it feels like an afterthought or more like a remnant of an idea that was left in because is was “neat”. I thoroughly enjoy building and designing in-game and Forts would seem like the perfect distraction that would elevate this game, but sadly, it doesn’t. The passive event that it is makes it bland even when getting a great reward you’ve been looking forward to. There isn’t anything you’re actively doing. This sounds like a lot, however, Contracts simply level up and unlock various rewards by playing the game like normal. Then there is the endgame loop, which comes in the flavors of Contracts, Forts, and Frazeer’s Dun’Djinn. Basic things like damage over time do not work correctly in some cases. Skills that once worked are now broken due to patching. Despite continued patching efforts over the last 4 months, lag and disconnects are still present during multiplayer. Unfortunately, this is a poorly slapped together, incomplete game that still suffers from many issues that were present back in June 2020 when this game hit early access. An ARPG is a perfect fit and Torchlight III appeared at a great time. An ARPG In 2020 many are looking for a pleasant distraction to get them through the onslaught of meme-worthy events that seem to have no end. TL2 was a breath of fresh air from the stale Diablo formula, but T元 represents the tiredness of the genre and the cynicism in modern games slipping into live-services, so I won't be surprised if TL next takes the step into a full-blown mobile game the way they attempted to do with Diablo. TL2 had me pursuing an alchemist, which was vague but at least tangible, whilst T元 seemed to just keep telling me to proceed to the next linear goal. The story of T元 feels borderline non-existent and incoherent. Even on lower difficulties enemies appear to be bullet-sponges, making some of the boss fights a test of endurance rather than skill. Having a fort to build and customise is a nice touch, but mostly useless and irrelevant other than boosting my luck and stashing gear. This is quite disappointing as my mage character was quite bland rather than a specialist in the elements or summoning etc. The concept of the contracts also felt very free-to-play. The gameplay of T元 makes some very strange changes, removing a skill tree format that suits ARPGs really well. Character customisation is really lacking when creating a new character, while the varieties of armour are nice but predictable at this point. TL2 gave me Fortnite and free-to-play vibes, which T元 only emphasises, missing an opportunity to carve a more original and unique look. The graphics don't seem to have improved. If anything, they are While I really enjoyed TL2, the third entry feels like a step backwards. While I really enjoyed TL2, the third entry feels like a step backwards. And what was the point of building a fort ? I felt like they lost their time on that aspect of the game, that seem more like a gimmick thing. I was fairly entertained but all the small glitches and nick-knacks, ruined the experience for me. I give it 65% because I loved the first two game. The music and voice overs were really good. I also had invisible sections of levels around the end. And there was the matter of fleeing pets. I had to go back, choose another one, and take back mine. From one zone to another, the pet would vanish. And they were a lot of glitches with the pets.

So, I mounted only 4-5 of them to max, with 3 passive. Some magic powers are completely useless while some others extremely strong. Your, shoot a projectile, is very strong and can beat all the game while swinging a sword/mace is extremely weak.

I played with a controller on PC and there were some instances where I had to use the mouse. The story is fair and could have used of more of those 2d stills, then those audio treasures.
